Eclectic Literary Fiction -Library Book Haul-

Hiya bookworms!! Today I'm hauling eclectic lit fic from the library to read! I'll share a bit of what each book is about, so let's get into it!

Ripe by Sarah Rose Etter- I'm halfway through this book and really liking it. This is set in Silicon Valley and our main character is working at a tech startup. She struggles with mental health and is hating her job in corporate hell. She also gets unexpectedly pregnant. This is an interesting read and is basically about late stage capitalism. I have no idea how it will end, but I think it's going to be a great read.

Fabulous by Lucy Hughes Hallett- This is a collection of short stories based on mythological and biblical retellings. I have yet to start this but it sounds absolutely amazing; I love retellings! Can't wait to dive into this unique little book.

Strega by Johanne Lykke Holm- This is described as a modern Gothic story (my fave) where women go to work at a remote hotel in the mountains and what happens when one of them goes missing. I am so very excited for this one; the fact that it's called strega leads me to believe that a witch will be involved, yay!

Reluctant Immortals by Gwendolyn Kiste- This book is a historical horror story and gothic retelling about Dracula and Mr. Rochester and the women that survived them. Don't know much more than that, but I think I'll like it!

Hurricane Girl by Marcy Dermansky- This is described as "a woman on the run from catastrophe, searching for love, home, a swimming pool, and for someone who can perhaps stop the bleeding from her head". I also happen to know it's set in a beach house on the coast of North Carolina, so I'm very excited to get to know more about this book.

Out There by Kate Folk- Another collection of short stories, this book is pretty trippy. I'm halfway through the first short story and wow, it's futuristic and strange, unsettling and psychedelic. If the other stories are anything like the first, then I'm going to love this book!

Ghost Lover by Lisa Taddeo- All I know about this collection of short stories is that it's strange and about women, so sign me up!

That's my little library haul and what I'm reading through at the moment! I'll review all of these, especially on my bookstagram at bookishmunchkin so you should go follow me! Hope y'all are having a great weekend, happy reading!
