Ebooks I've Bought Recently on Kindle -Dark Academia, Mermaids, Zombies, Reincarnation-

Happy Spooky Halloween season bookish friends! Today I'm going to do a post talking about the ebooks I have bought on my kindle recently. There are some spooky books for the season as well as some lighter reads to balance it out. Without further ado, let's see what I got!

  • The Salt Grows Heavy by Cassandra Khaw- This is a fantasy/horror novella where a mermaid teams up with a plague doctor and mayhem and survival ensues. This sounds very intriguing and I am down to read really any horror book involving mermaids lol!
  • In These Hallowed Halls by Editors: Marie O'Regan and Paul Kane. Featured in this book is the famed dark academic author Olivia Blake! This is an anthology dedicated to dark academia short stories. Can't wait to read during this fall season!
  • Star Eater by Kerstin Hall- This is a horror/fantasy/sci-fi book. I really don't know how to explain the concept because this book is pretty "out there" but I do have a quote from the Goodreads page: "even the most powerful women are forced to choose what sacrifices they will make so that they might have any choice at all" Sounds so good and terrifying!
  • Tricks by Ellen Hopkins- This is a young adult novel in verse and it deals with the very heavy and dark topics of youth in sex trafficking and prostitution. Ellen Hopkins is so good at writing heavy topics such as this but major trigger warnings if you want to read this!
  • True Colors by Kristin Hannah- This book is contemporary women's fiction. It's about three sisters; one is a bookworm, one a peacemaker, and one a dreamer. Something happens to bring about a lot of conflict, secrets are revealed and the sisters' relationships are tested!
  • Recipe for Second Chances by Ali Rosen-This is a foodie fiction and contemporary romance. I saw that one of my fave tropes of second chance romance is in it and it's set at an Indian-Italian wedding with beautiful scenery and lots of yummy food! This will be a fun one to read!
  • Dead Blood series by Jay Bower- This is a horror series with vampires navigating a zombie apocalypse. It's in KU as well but I bought the box set of the series after coming across a TikTok the author made of his books. They sound perfect to read for this time of year!
  • The Hundred Loves of Juliet by Evelyn Skye- This is a fantasy romance of sorts and a Romeo and Juliet retelling as well. It's about a woman named Helene falling in love with a fisherman named Sebastien Montague and realizing that they have reincarnated together as lovers for many lifetimes. This sounds right up my alley, I really can't wait to read this!
Those are all the ebooks I've bought recently! Usually on sale or with Kindle Rewards points; I'm a cheap bookworm heehee! I hope this gave you some reading ideas and I'd love to hear what you've recently downloaded onto your kindle! Hope you're all enjoying your weekend! Until next time, Happy Reading!
