Current Reads & I Won Queen of Exiles!
Hello bookworms! I hope you're all doing great! Today I'm going to be talking about my current reads (the bookstack above lol) and my goodreads giveaway win! Let's get into my current reads first!
I am currently reading:
The Winters by Lisa Gabriele, a thriller set in the Bahamas/New York, reminiscent of Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier.
Every Summer After by Carley Fortune, a summer romance set by a lake in Canada, second chance romance.
Queen of Exiles by Vanessa Riley, royal historical fiction, set in Haiti/Europe.
Writers and Lovers by Lily King, literary fiction.
Vision in White, Book 1 of the Bride Quartet by Nora Roberts, wedding romance.
From Blood and Ash by Jennifer L. Armentrout, fantasy romance.
I am loving The Winters, it's slightly creepy and unsettling, you're just waiting for things to come together and explode. Every Summer After is a sweet romance so far; the couple were childhood sweethearts but something awful breaks them up but, they come together after the hero's mother dies of cancer and they meet again at her funeral. From Blood and Ash is such an exciting and interesting fantasy romance so far! I'm loving the world building and the setting, murders are happening everywhere which adds to the drama and excitement and there's just something about Hawke...lol.
Now, for the book I won in a Goodreads Giveaway! I won an ARC of Queen of Exiles by Vanessa Riley! Vanessa Riley also wrote Island Queen which I own but haven't read yet. Queen of Exiles is a royal historical fiction (my favorite) and is about the Haitian Queen Marie-Louise Coidavid. She escaped a coup in Haiti and set up court in Europe, mingling with other royals. I find her to be a fascinating woman indeed, and I can't WAIT to read this! It's going to be so good! I can already tell! Thank you to the publisher William Morrow for sending me this copy. This will go on sale sometime this month!
I also have a DNF (book I Did Not Finish) to report, The Spare Room by Andrea Bartz. It was marketed as a thriller, but it's really more of a threesome romance story. Ugh, I hate when they market things wrong. Not too interested in that, so I just returned it in my Libby app. Also on Libby, I'm currently reading Fatima Tate Takes The Cake and I'm loving it!!! Such a good YA book so far. More to report later.
I hope y'all enjoyed this and have a wonderful day! Alette
