Book Review of Lock Every Door & New Marker Set!
Hey everyone! I hope you're all doing well and staying safe. Today I'm going to review a book and chat about my new marker set that I got from Amazon. Let's get into it :)
The book that I'm reviewing is Lock Every Door by Riley Sager. This is an adult thriller that was published last summer, I believe. I won't give away any spoilers, just to make that clear!
The book is set in New York City and focuses on a young woman named Jules who has fallen on hard times. She answers the job ad to be an apartment sitter at this historic, fancy apartment building called the Bartholomew. The money is fantastic and the job is to live in an apartment there for 3 months. However, the rules are strange...no spending any nights away from the apartment, no visitors whatsoever, and don't even think about asking questions of the other tenants. Jules is an inquisitive girl and finds out not everything about the Bartholomew is as it seems...and the things she finds out are terrifying.
I gave this book 3 stars. 3.5 to be exact but Goodreads doesn't allow decimal ratings. The beginning and middle dragged on a bit and I got kind of bored, but the ending took me for a wile ride. I loved the ending and conclusion to everything. So, I recommend you finish it even if you're bored because there's no way that that ending will bore you! I liked Jules' character and how nosy she was because I'd be the same way lol. I loved the creepy setting in NYC and the various side characters. I also liked the whole premise of the book; I found it unique for a thriller. I recommend this for a good summer read. I think newbie thriller readers and more seasoned thriller reads alike will like this book, so give it a try!
Besides finishing that book up last night, I also got a new set of markers from Amazon! They're by the brand Quick Craft and they come with 100 different colors, including a colorless blender marker which is always nice to have. They're alcohol based, but have little alcohol smell in case you're worried about that. It also comes with a color chart and a manual color chart for you to fill out in case the colors don't print true to color. I highly recommend you fill out that color chart, the colors are much more vibrant in person and some don't match the cap color very well. Also, the names don't really match quite a few of the colors, so don't be tricked! They work really well though, quite smoothly and opaque, just how I like my markers. They were only $35 for 100, which I think is a steal of a deal, so check them out on Amazon.
I hope you enjoyed this two for one book and marker set review lol! Let me know if you've read this book or are going to check it out! Hope you're all doing well and take care until next time!
