Books, Anxiety, and Trying New Things! -Diary Entry-
Hey y'all! Happy Sunday, hope you're all staying safe and doing well. Tonight I just wanted to do a chit chat post about how things have been going recently. I've been staying busy reading ebooks through my library's app, which has been such a blessing during these times! I checked out a book and finished it and I'm here to recommend it to you! It's called The Hired Girl by Laura Amy Schlitz. It's about a young teen girl who runs away from an abusive home and becomes a hired maid to a Jewish family. It's SUCH a great book! The girl is so funny and endearing, the family is so loving, and it's an awesome story that I think everyone would enjoy.
Another book that I've been reading and really enjoying is Rolling in the Deep by Mira Grant. I'm halfway through this prequel novella to Into The Drowning Deep. It's a mermaid horror book and man, is it good! I picked up the prequel novella for only $4-5 on Kindle! I'll do a full review of both books when I'm finished.
My anxiety has been pretty bad lately. Some nights I go to sleep and just cry and worry, which I know some of you may too during these times. Please know you're not alone! It's so hard and scary out there. I've been avoiding the news as best I can because I can only take so much. I just want things to get better and everyone healed and better. But I know that's fairytale thinking. I've been coloring up a storm trying to keep my anxiety down and while it helps, it doesn't cure it, ya know?
Some new things I've been doing and trying out are: playing Assassin's Creed Odyssey. Now, I'm kinda outta my league on this game. I'm used to playing kid type games or the same game over and over -Skyrim- so now that I'm playing a new and adult game, I find out it's super hard for me! I'm pretty bad at it and felt lame lol. At least I tried!
I've also been trying out the OMAD diet this week. I'll go into more details tomorrow about it, but it's working pretty great and I'm happy!
I've also started an art journal to write and be creative in each day, which I'm excited about! I need a place to pour all my worries out each day and avoid overwhelming people, so this is perfect. Plus I love being creative so yay!
Tomorrow is Monday and it's a new day. Things will get better as time goes on, remember that. I hope you're having a great evening and I'll talk more tomorrow!
Alette
