New Book Releases of 2019 I'm Most Excited For!
Hey bookworms! Today I'm doing one of my fave posts which is: my most excited for book releases of 2019! I primarily read YA with a little bit of historical fiction, but if something intrigues me, I'll read just about any genre. Let's jump right in!
The Wicked King by Holly Black~ Funny enough, this book is already out, BUT, I haven't bought it yet, much less read it. I haven't even read Cruel Prince yet (it's in my TBR stack), but I absolutely love the premise of this series and all the hype sounds accurate. I really need to get on this series!
Enchantee by Gita Trelease (coming out February 2019)~ This book hit me like a freight train and I knew it had to go on my list. The cover is stunning and the description is right up my alley. The setting is Marie Antoinette's Versailles, there's magic and mayhem, and court intrigue abounds. I CAN'T WAIT!!!
Wicked Saints by Emily A. Duncan (coming out April 2019)~ This book is described as a "blood-drenched fairytale" and "Gothic" so I was like "OoOooo!" The description doesn't say much but it does tell of a girl who can talk to the gods, a prince, and a boy with secrets who team up to assassinate the King and put an end to a long war. Count me in!
Dark Shores by Danielle L. Jensen (coming out May 2019)~ Described as "piracy, blackmail, and meddling gods meet" I instantly hopped aboard this ship and am eager to read it! I love anything with pirates :)
The Beholder by Anna Bright (coming out June 2019)~ This sounds amazing okay? A princess of a kingdom decides to travel across the Atlantic and journey through what sounds like Europe to court different suitors and hopefully come home engaged! The Selection meets a travel show?! Yes, please!
An Affair of Poisons by Addie Thorley (coming out February 2019)~ Poor King Louis XIV gets poisoned. An alchemist girl teams up with the royal bastard boy to stop further murders and put the rightful heir on the throne. Again, we have Versailles, so I MUST read this.
Romanov by Nadine Brandes (coming out May 2019)~ In this book Anastasia Romanov lives! YAY! I'm going to read it already just for that. But wait, she also has a secret magic spell that she must get to Siberia along with a Bolshevik guard's help. But can he be trusted and will she get there in time?
With the Fire on High by Elizabeth Acevedo (coming out May 2019) This book's cover is gorgeous and the story sounds wonderful. It's about a teen girl trying to navigate life while taking care of her baby and abuela. The only place she has freedom is in the kitchen. Will she follow her dream and become a chef? I certainly hope so, I'm already rooting for this girl!
A Dress for the Wicked by Autumn Krouse (August 2019) This is set in an alternative 19th century Europe and the publishers say if you like The Luxe series, you'll like this. And let me tell you, I was obsessed with The Luxe series in high school! It's about a country girl from a small village in England who has dreams of being a top fashion designer and making beautiful gowns. As she works her way up in the fashion world, she sees how dark it can be. Will she make it?
And that bookworms is my list of 2019 books I'm most excited for! It's gonna be a great year for reading, I'll tell ya that much! Hope you enjoy and add a few to your list as well. What are you looking forward to this year? See you soon!
