Planner, DIY Pen Cup, & Latest Painting!
Happy Monday! And here we are, starting yet another week. Can you believe May is already almost over??? I feel like it just started! Bring on the Summer months, yippee!
I just finished my planner spread for this week! Here it is:
I haven't got much going on this week, no appointments or big plans! But it's full of busy-ness! I just created my new book blog called Bookish Munchkin. Feel free to follow all of my bookworm ramblings at bookishmunchkin.blogspot.com.
I'm going to have my hands full with two blogs and my art but I'm so happy I'm following my passions and doing what I love! For this week's spread, I used stickers out of the floral MAMBI book and I filled the top and bottom boxes with my to do lists :) Besides my art and blogging, I'm going to do some seasonal end of spring/beginning of summer cleaning! Yay!
Now, I have a mini DIY perfect for planner girls and candle lovers! Yeah, you heard me! If you love candles as much as I do, chances are you burn quite a lot of them and are left with pretty candle jars lying around. What to do with them? Well first, scrape out excess wax and put it in the dishwasher after removing labels. Out comes a clean and pretty jar for you to use!
I had a beautiful navy jar that I got from one of my mom's candles that she finished. After washing it, I placed a sticker in the middle to give a cute little touch and filled it with my fave Gelly Roll pens. Tah dah! This is how it turned out!
Adorable right?! I have it displayed on my desk now to brighten things up and motivate me..."Make it Happen!"
Now, the past few days I've been working on a painting that was out of my comfort zone. I had repainted a previous piece of work black and decided to start all over with something that pleased me more. I decided to experiment with chunky, layered strokes of color and GLITTER paint! I really wanted to do an outer space type painting with a moon and sun. So without further ado, here it is!
Kinda funky right? I really like how it turned out. I'm debating whether to include it in my future Etsy shop though, it's a tad bit large of a canvas. Who knows, maybe! I used acrylic paint and Sharpie metallic markers for the arrow detailing in the middle.
Well, it's a beautiful day out after having a couple of dreary days. That's a good metaphor for life isn't it? Sometimes we have to go through dark days but there's always a sunny one just around the corner. I'm going to write up my very first book review for my blog and goodreads account and then I'll probably start working on another painting that I have in mind. Oh, and I've got to fit in the elliptical somewhere around there...ugh. The joys of exercise lol!
I hope you're having a great start to the week and enjoying the last days of May! See y'all tomorrow!
Alette
