I’m sad to say that I finished this book and gave it one ⭐️. It kept dragging and dragging and the ending was absolutely outrageous and unnecessary. I’ll still read the third book but I’m definitely disappointed in this one! Hey bookworms, boy do I have a post for you! I'm going to do a mini review about Lord of Shadows by Cassandra Clare. I'll get this out of the way and just say I hated this book, gave it one star, and it's the worst book I've read in awhile. This is in no way saying Cassandra Clare is a bad author because I've loved her other books (haven't read The Mortal Instruments series however), but this book was just bad.

So, this is the second book in the Dark Artifices series. Set in LA with Emma Carstairs and Julian Blackthorn and all of his siblings, the first book I enjoyed and I fell in love with Emma and Julian and all the Blackthorn kids. Then I get to the second book which just dragged and dragged and dragged. Not many exciting things even happened! Without giving too much away, this book consisted of Annabelle wreaking havoc, Emma and Julian trying not to fall in love, and a bunch of faerie drama which you think would be interesting but it wasn't.

So, it's dragging but I slog through it and get to the end. And my heart crumbles, I cry, and get very angry. The ending was so abrupt and stupid and UNNECESSARY! It's like the author just got as sick of writing the book as I was reading it and put that death in there to be spiteful lol. It just makes no sense. So I'm annoyed I wasted so much of my time. I'm still going to read the third book and hope it's better. But man, this one was a doozy. I hope the third book redeems the series but I don't know...that's a lot of redemption that needs to happen.
