White Oleander Book Review

 Hiya bookworms and a Happy Friday to you all! Today I'm going to be reviewing the modern classic: White Oleander by Janet Fitch. This was an astounding read, so let's get right into it! This novel follows a mother-daughter relationship through the years after the mother is imprisoned for murder and the daughter is put into foster care. This book contains very dark and depressing subjects but the writing is so very beautiful and descriptive, flowery without being over the top. It's a work of art, truly. The beauty of the writing helps to brighten the dark subject matter.  It's set in Los Angeles, Southern California area and it's so stunningly described. It made me feel like I was right there with our main character daughter. You, the reader, becomes such a fan of the daughter and her strength and resiliency and start hoping, wishing, praying for her future to be better and brighter than it is in the book.
