Dwelling in the Pool of Uncertainty -Aesthetic Poem-

 The Pool of Uncertainty
looms large, dark, and deep
no end in sight, currents strong, running in the depths below
not knowing what lies ahead for me
I stare intensely into this mythical Pool
I see distant scenes of futures untold for me,
misty against the barely still panes of water-glass
I can see a slight undertone into my future
and then
it swishes and sloshes
changing in an instant
I gather no comfort from this Pool,
only more anxious and scared than before
"Don't go searching for your future to be told"
my wise mother always said
knowing it would only bring unsettling times
I turn from the Pool of Uncertainty
and it ripples and murmurs in beckoning repose
a subtle begging for me to sit by it again
bring it some company
"No, you make me fearful of what's to come"
I respond, annoyed and tired from concentrating into it's dark and shifting waters
the water shimmers and a distant glow brightens deep within it
I draw closer, yet again, enchanted
but then
my mother's words scream against my ear,
brought by the wind
and I know it's her last warning
so with a sigh I turn with a final movement and forever leave this
Pool of Uncertainty.
