Life Lately and Mini Review of The Thousandth Floor!
Hiya bookworms! Hope you all are doing well and having a good January! I can't believe it's already the 21st! Today I'm going to do a mini review of The Thousandth Floor and chat about life lately. Let's get into it!
The Thousandth Floor by Katharine McGee is a young adult sci-fi contemporary novel...not quite sure how to fully put it into a genre lol. It's basically a futuristic version of Gossip Girl. So, if that strikes your fancy, I think you'll really enjoy this book! I know I did! The book has multiple POVs and they're all written very well and easy to understand. Hats off to the author for doing that because some authors just can't handle multiple POVs and it's a nightmare trying to follow all the characters. The book follows the life and scandals of some rich teens who live on the very top floors of the Tower (located in NYC, the Tower has everything you could imagine inside of it...and it's a thousand floors). It also follows some middle class and poor teens and their lives intertwining with the wealthier teens.
I don't want to give away more than that because...spoilers, but trust me, there's lots of drama to feast upon! I gave this 4 out of 5 stars for lovely writing, descriptions, concise POVs, etc. The ending I rather hated; I will say that. BUT, I'm continuing on with the series and can't wait to see what happens next!
Now for life lately...this month has been good! I've been feeling great mentally, been reading more often, and creating a lot of art! I'm uploading some new art designs tonight to my redbubble shop and I'm currently working on Valentine's themed art which will be up by February! Here's the link to my shop if you wanna see what's there! artbyalette.redbubble.com
I've made my Goodreads goal for the year to read 60 books, which is 5 a month! Totally doable I'd say, I've read 6 so far this month, yay! So much to read, so little time... I have some posts I want to do before February starts so I'm going to work on blogging a lot more often! What's been going on in y'alls lives? Anything new and exciting? I'd love to hear!
I hope you're all doing great and I'll talk to ya again soon!
Alette
