Physical Books I'm Currently Reading -TBR Pile-
Hey y'all! Happy Monday! Hope you all had a great weekend! Today I'm sharing my TBR pile or what physical books I'm currently reading! Let's get into it!
The first book I'm reading is The Assassin's Blade by Sarah J Maas. This is a collection of novella prequels to the Throne of Glass series. I got this book in a box set of the whole Throne of Glass series. I've finished the first novella (The Assassin and the Pirate Lord) and it's really good! I love the author's writing and her world building skills are impressive, especially for a novella! I'm very late to the Sarah J Maas party, but in case you are too, The Assassin's Blade is about an assassin named Calaena Sardothien and her adventures set in a fantastical world. I love Calaena already and can't wait to read more!
The second book I'm reading is Cruel Beauty by Rosamund Hodge. This is a young adult Beauty and the Beast retelling, which immediately had my attention because I love retellings! Our main character is a young woman named Nyx who is betrothed to an evil king. She has been betrothed since birth and trained to kill him eventually. Well, things don't exactly go according to plan and she starts to fall in love with him lol. I've only read the first few chapters in this but the writing is so lovely and lyrical and the setting is like a fantasy version of Greece maybe? Love it!
The third book is The Thousandth Floor by Katharine McGee. This is a young adult futuristic drama/romance, not sure how to really describe the genre, but let me tell you, this book is fantastic! It's like a futuristic Gossip Girl because it follows a group of young adults in New York City in 2118. There's lots of drama, secrets, and cool technology in this book. I'm thoroughly enjoying it!
The next book I'm reading is Rich People Problems by Kevin Kwan. This is the third book in the Crazy Rich Asians series and wow, a lot is going on. The only thing I can say without spoiling anything is that Su Yi, Nick's grandma and matriarch of the family, has a big heart attack and now the entire family is gathering together in preparation for her death. Lots of drama and family fighting is going to happen. I'm enjoying this book as much as the first two and I hope the ending is happy.
And the last book I'm currently reading is The Four Winds by Kristin Hannah. This is an ARC (soon to be released in February). It's an adult historical fiction novel. This is about a woman and her life in the Dust Bowl during the Great Depression and is about the choices she has to make for survival. I have only started the first chapter, but I'm loving it already.
That's all the physical books I'm reading! What is on your TBR pile for this month? Any suggestions? I'd love to hear them! Hope you all have a great week!
