I Won An ARC of Kristin Hannah's Newest Book!
Hey everyone! I've been meaning to do this post for a few weeks but time has slipped by me, so here it finally is! Like the title says, I have won an ARC of Kristin Hannah's newest book: The Four Winds! I entered a Goodreads giveaway for it and I actually won! I am SO excited and grateful to have won this. I've heard wonderful things about Kristin Hannah's books, so I have very high hopes for this book! Let's get into what this book is about, shall we?
The Four Winds by Kristin Hannah is set during the Great Depression and more specifically the Dust Bowl era. The main character is a woman named Elsa Martinelli and the book centers on her two choices: to either fight for the land she loves or travel west to California where there's better prospects. This book is beautifully described as "an indelible portrait of America and the American Dream, as seen through the eyes of one indomitable woman whose courage and sacrifice will come to define a generation". WOW! I don't know about you, but that description gives me chills.
I absolutely love reading about people's resilience during the Great Depression and Dust Bowl eras. And this book is being released at a timely hour in world history, with a pandemic making life most difficult, reflecting the Great Depression in some ways. I also love reading about California history, so I'm hoping Elsa does make the move to California eventually.
This book is set to release on February 9, 2021 in case you were wondering. I have started the first chapter and I'm loving it already. I will be sure to write a full review when I'm finished!
