An Artsy Kind of Day! Plus A Book Rec -Diary Entry-
Hey y'all! Today was a pretty darn good day, so yay! I hope you all had a good day too; I think we all deserve good things especially after all the bad stuff going on in the world right now! So this morning I woke up and my headache was finally gone! Already a good start to the day! I had a headache that lasted for 2-3 days; it was really weird. Anyway, I wrote and read in the morning. I went to get the mail and guess what?! My wall collage kit from England FINALLY made it through customs and came here! I was SO happy about that. I'll do a whole post about the collage wall once it's done, can't wait :D
I read some more in the afternoon (I've been loving checking ebooks out from my library online, it's so handy). I also did a lot of art. I took my watercolor paintings which had thoroughly dried (those are them above in the instagram post) and drew my designs on them in marker. I was experimenting to see if marker would even show up on metallic watercolor and it did, so I'm really pleased with how they turned out. I just need to iron them and get them ready for scanning! I'm also working on a floral abstract piece made entirely in marker right now, so that's been fun just to whittle away at throughout the day.
This evening I finished a book! It's called When Life Gives You Lululemons by Lauren Weisberger. She wrote The Devil Wears Prada, which is one of my all time faves. When Life Gives You Lululemons is a spin off featuring our favorite, Emily! It was soo good you guys! It was super funny, great descriptions and setting in Greenwich, Connecticut, and I loved how women supported each other in this book and Emily, Karolina, and Miriam's friendship. I highly recommend this as a summer read, super fun and easy to get through!
My mental health has been kind of weird the past few days; I've been in a bit of a slump. But I have my phone session with my therapist on Monday, so that's good! And I woke up in a bit of a better mood today. I hallucinated a really weird thing during dinner tonight (I had a burrito from Chipotle, yum). I was sitting there eating and reading when I heard a really high pitched ringing in my ear, which is normal for me, but this time accompanying it was what sounded like radio static when you switch channels. It scared me! I quickly realized it was just a hallucination though, and it stopped, but still. Scary to me at least. Here's hoping to better mental health days soon!
I think I've rambled enough for this post! Hope you're all doing well and I'll talk to ya tomorrow :)
Alette
