Bookish Thoughts on The Center of the Universe
Hey bookworms! Today I'm doing a bookish thoughts post on The Center of the Universe by Ria Voros. I won this book in a giveaway awhile back and I've just now started it! Let's get into it!
This book is about a teen girl named Grace Carter navigating a serious situation in which her mother, GG has gone missing. Add to the fact that GG and Grace haven't been getting along and there's serious tension, makes the situation even worse. You see, Grace is really into astrophysics, science, and space. Her and her friend Iris are both uniquely themselves and a bit geeky. GG meanwhile is a celebrity news anchor and is semi famous and just very different than her daughter. It put a lot of stress on their relationship. One day at Grace's brother's soccer game, GG goes missing without a trace, except for a text message saying she's not coming back.
The police get involved and Grace starts freaking out until a boy named Mylo (Iris is friends with him and connected the two) helps to calm her down and they face the situation head on all together, all three of them.
I'm on Chapter 16 and that's basically all that's happened so far. People don't know if GG has been kidnapped or if she simply needed time to herself and wandered away for alone time. I'm hooked on the story and am excited to learn more. I'm also hoping that GG and Grace's relationship becomes repaired at some point. I love books that talk about family dynamics and this one isn't disappointing so far!
