Weekly Wrap Up & Bookish Thoughts on Social Creatures
Hey y'all! Time for the Weekly Wrap Up! This week I didn't blog much, but I did sleep a lot while adjusting to a medication change. I think I'm pretty adjusted to it by now. My mom also flew out to Texas to visit her mom, which is great :) I spent this week reading, coloring, and trying to stay cool in this yucky heat. I like summer, but I don't like hot weather. Anything above 70 I find gross lol.
Now for my thoughts on the book I'm reading right now called Social Creatures. It's described as a version of Talented Mr. Ripley but with women. That hooked me right away! Here are my thoughts so far:
1. I love the quick, witty writing style and descriptions of setting and fashion.
2. The characters are all very smart and witty, making me feel dumb at times lol. I don't get a lot of the references but I enjoy it.
3. The writing makes me feel like I'm right there in New York City.
4. I absolutely love Lavinia. She's such a fun, but soon to be a tragic character.
5. I know Louise is the villain, but I feel bad for her...she seems like such a lost soul.
6. I really like the visual and subtle contrasts between Louise's poverty and Lavinia's wealth.
7. I really want to know more about the story behind Lavinia and Rex and if this is going to be a major subplot later on in the book.
Overall, I think it's a fantastic book so far and I'm really excited to read more of it!
Here's a link to my latest post on YA Bookish Munchkin . I rated my Top 5 books I want to read this summer!
Hope you enjoyed and I'll see ya soon!
