Jane Davenport Mermaid Markers Swatches

Hey y'all! Today is super hot and the air is filled with smoke due to fires going on here in Colorado, so as soon as I got home from errands, I hunkered down inside! Earlier I went shopping with my mom and brother for Father's day presents and then we went to the store and I got Taco Bell for my cheat meal, yay! The Taco Bell addiction is real y'all! A Baja Blast is so refreshing on a day like this.

Now, let's get down to talking about the Jane Davenport Mermaid Markers! I got mine from Michael's (actually I think that's the only place that sells them? don't quote me on that!) and they retail for $40, so use their 40% off coupon on them! Here's how they look in packaging:

They come in a pack of 12 with the most beautiful colors! In case you don't know what the mermaid markers are, they are brush pens filled with different watercolors. In the packaging they have a yellow circular band that you have to unscrew the pen and take off. To use them, hold upside down over paper and squeeze the part that says PUSH. The ink will sink down into the barrel and tip of the brush, then you can start moving the brush on the paper and paint! Do take note that this isn't for intricate work, it's more for large washes of color which is why I got them for my coloring page backgrounds. Also, they can be a bit finnicky and shoot out a big blot of ink which can potentially bleed through paper. But practice and patience makes perfect!

Here are the first few swatches of green and blues! Aren't they beautiful?! And since they're Mermaid Markers, the names are sea related...so cute! Shown here starting from the top is Seaweed, Siren, Byron Bay, and Blue Bottle.

Here are the purples, yellow, and reds: Deep Sea, Jellyfish, Pirate's Gold, Lobster, and Starfish.

And last but not least is Coral, Beach, and Reef. Beach is more of a sandy color in case you can't tell and Reef is a dark brown. These shades are absolutely beautiful and I'm so excited to use them! I'll be sure to post any coloring pages that I use them on.

I swatched all of these in my Happy Planner so I could keep track of them in one place and yes, they did bleed through a bit, so keep that in mind for future use! I hope you check these out too!
Have a great Thursday everyone and I'll see y'all later :)

Alette
